Clem and Ed

I thank God for giving us two beautiful boys. I pray and hope that we have the wisdom to lead, teach, guide and keep them. Here is another pix of them both, the photo was taken when Clem was a baby. I believe Clem was about 3 to 4 months. Ed is 2 months.

3rd Generation

This summer, we had the privilege of having papi Louis to celebrate with us. We took him out of nursing home so that he get to see all his great grand children. It was fun having him around and Vincent use to go around to his grandparents alot when he was a child. Its nice to have grand parents, great grand parents close by. We took the opportunity to pick these rare shots!

Clement - Sandy Park

Clement needs to go out everyday if the weather permits. Last week a friend told us about a new park. It was a big sand pit with a hammock swing and a tunnel. The best thing is that it’s sand everywhere. He loves it there and of course the parents too. Its a change from the usual park that he goes to. He has a play mate now, Lucas, in fact they go to the same nursery together. So they are enjoying the park together on the hammock swing. img_7975img_7973

Merci-Thank You-Xie Xie

We have been teaching Clement to say many things and ‘Thank you’,'please’ were the first few and in french as well of course. But FINALLY he said ‘Merci’, we were overjoyed. Believe me, we were jumping up and down…literally. We were so pleased with it, took him such a long time to express those words even though we use it every single day! So I decided to mark that occasion with a post.

Now we hope he will say ‘please’ and learn to pray!

Clement and his greens

We have been struggling to give Clement his greens. He was never a fussy eater or picky about it. But over the past year, he didn’t like his vegetables and fruits (the actual vege and fruits). He likes them pureed and at some stage he needs to grow up and have the real thing.

We are trying to eat more vege as well so that he could pick it up. And it did! One fine day he just pick the spinach in the salad bowl and eat them off the bowl. We were pleased and yet find it shocking. Suddenly…

Spot the difference

The first photo is Clement when he is about 2 months old and the right is Edgar at the same age. It’s a wonderful feeling to have a baby at home. They grow up too quickly.

Uncle George - One of a kind

8th Sept 2009 - The day the world lost another great man.

Uncle George passed away. Our heart, the one element that keeps our physical body going was also his weakest. He has been on pace maker for a while now. And I thank God that he passed peacefully. He had alot of views on politics and always give us the impression that he was different and often had views where the commoners don’t think of.

He enjoyed fine things in life and a good bottle of wine! Meals with him were often without salt (which is normal for us). Vincent was very close to him and he was one of those family members that we see often and spend time with. We enjoyed our chats with him (with my limited and broken french and often in his apartment which fronts the Hotel De Ville, carousel.

Definitely a man that will be missed and remembered for a long time. God bless you and we love you.

Colours in Veuilly

I talked much about the sunset in Veuilly so now I must show….The colours are really amazing during summer when the day is longer.

Fire in the sky. This is what we get everyday. It’s hot but not humid so summer is always amazing.

Veuilly La Poterie - The Cottage

I have talked so much about the cottage and now I actually need to show how the cottage looks like. Again, thank you for my Dad and Mum in law for making things better for the family. They have invested much of their time and money doing DIY for the garden, kitchen, water systems, toilet that flushes (so that we don’t have to dig a hole in the ground), new coat of paint from time to time and heating (very important, freezing cold in the winter).

This is the front of the house. There is no fencing in the front and the house is just opposite a church (a very beautiful heritage)

This is the church I was mentioning. It’s literally opposite the family cottage. The best spot of the town.

Another picture of the front. My parents in law work hard to maintain their garden. I used the roses from this garden for our wedding 2 years ago. It was lovely and means so much more than getting it from the florist. That’s how beautiful those roses were. There are photos of it in the older posts.

This is the back of the house. Huge space. We spend most of the time here sun-bathing, lunches, dinners, just hanging out, swimming, running, watching the sun set, climbing trees, reading, listening to birds and anything you can think of.

Grapevine

We have a grapevine growing at the back of the garden. They look amazing and we can’t wait to harvest them. Usually the harvest period is mid Sept. It’s not the sweetest of grapes but it’s in the garden and this will be our first and last year to eat them before the birds and squirrels get to them first!

Yum….
